Join Our Team of Wellness Ambassadors
In order to assist the Chancellor's Committee on Wellness to promote, plan and model a balanced lifestyle, we are in search of Wellness Ambassadors. The wellness ambassadors are people interested in helping themselves and others within their process of awareness to make healthy choices in order to meet their individual goals.
There is no body type, education level, department or position to become a Wellness Ambassador! Only the desire to help promote wellness at UNL and encourage others to work toward a more balanced lifestyle. UNL Bike to Work Week Kickoff Bike Ride
Take a group wellness ride, led by UNL Outdoor Adventures before work on Friday, May 13, 2011- 8:00 am.
Check-in between 7:30-7:50 am. Ride begins at 8:00 am sharp. Ride will end at the Lincoln Bike Rally (at
Centennial Mall). Participants return to campus on his/her own schedule.
Register by May 6, to reserve your FREE cinch bag.

National Bike/Walk to Work Week
Got a bike or tennis shoes? Take this week to make as many trips by "foot" or "pedal" as possible.
The lower level of Mable Lee Hall has shower facilities that can be used to shower/freshen up. Need a
towel? Sign in as a Bike/Walk to Work Week Guest at the city Campus Rec to shower for FREE during
this week. Guests are asked to use the shower facilities only. Be sure to ask the front desk for a facilities
tour.
Earn prizes for your departmental team and sign up for the Bike to Work Week Challenge.

Train for a 10k Walk or Run Beginner Program
Train to walk or run your first 10k May 25-July 13: Cost $15 per person.
This 8-week program is tailored towards walkers looking to increase their endurance and/or beginning runners. Training dates are set to coincide with the Nebraska State Games VolksWalk held Saturday/Sunday, July 16/17. All participants are encouraged to sign up for the Volkswalk. Looking for a Walking Group?
Join wellness for a 30-minute early morning walk and pick up a well-balanced breakfast. This
activity occurs during 1st 5 week session (June 6-July 8.)
Thursdays at East Campus, meet at the activities building and walk from 7:00-7:30am
Fridays at City Campus, meet at Campus Recreation, 14th Street entrance and walk from 7:00-7:30am
Cost = FREE to Walk or $3 for Walk + Breakfast
